ABOUT UVU +40/­-40 RACE WATERPROOF JACKET
Developed in collaboration with some of the world’s most elite athletes – who have worn, tested the jacket – the UVU +40/-­40 Race Waterproof Jacket takes advantage of the most elite fabrication to deliver high performance protection and durability for temperature extremities from +40°C to ­-40°C.

Fully Sonic Welded Seams

We&rsquo’ve replaced conventional stitched and taped seams with barely visible sonic-welded seams for weight reduction and increased strength.

Sonic Welding takes advantage of high-frequency microwave technology to fuse petro-chemical based fabrics at a molecular level. With traditional needle and thread applications causing thousands of tiny holes in the jacket seam, sonic welding ensures that all seams are fully fused together helping to avoid seam chafe for greater comfort and allowing freedom of movement

Reflective Back Hem Piping

The back hem piping takes advantage of reflective technology for extra visibility in the dark.

DWR Coated Zipper

Instead of using traditional PU coated zippers, we use a more expensive YKK zipper with a Durable Water Repellant(DWR) coating allowing water to bead off.

During initial testing at the North Pole, we faced the problems with non-breathable PU coated zippers as condensation built up on the inside of the zipper and froze.DWR zips prevent condensation build up during highly aerobic activities, helping ensure they don’t freeze up in sub zero temperatures.
